Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the ride start and end? [back to top]
The Journey begins in Long Beach, California and ends in Jacksonville, Florida. Click here to view the planned route map.

How long will HCJourney 2011 take? [back to top]
The Journey begins mid-April and is expected to reach Jacksonville in July. On the return home the Mortimers will visit many of the communities from HCJourney 2008. They expect to be back in Gig Harbor by the end of September.

Are you looking for others to ride across America with you? [back to top]
Due to insurance and logistical concerns, the Hope and Courage Journey riders are limited to the Mortimers. We expect to have others join us occasionally as we pedal through their community.

Will you be riding through my town? [back to top]
Maybe. The route is currently being developed. We will follow the Interstate 10 corridor from coast to coast. Our route will vary according to local conditions and ministry opportunities.

How can my community be a part of this unique opportunity? [back to top]

  • Coordinate an evening rally. Work with your local faith-based community to schedule an evening with the HCJourney Team. The evening should include a special message from Bob. He will tell how his personal faith in God gave him Hope and the Courage to live a life of wholeness…with only one limb.

  • Donate goods, services, or money. Lodging, meals, equipment, and good old fashioned money are needed to keep The Hope and Courage Journey on track. All help is appreciated. Donations are tax deductible.

How do I donate money to Hope and Courage Across America? [back to top]
We accept donations by Credit Card and Check. Click here to make a donation via Credit Card using PayPal's secure online donation process. Make checks payable to BMMM and send to 3914 53rd St Ct NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98335. Please note Hope and Courage Journey. Your donation will be used to fund the expenses of Hope and Courage Journey as well as future BMMM projects.

Is my donation tax deductible? [back to top]
Yes. The Hope and Courage Journey is a service project of Bob Mortimer Motivational Ministries (BMMM), a 501(c)(3)organization. All donations are deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS.
